This extended poem of 32 pages was originally published by Jarrold & Son’s, of Norwich but the simple unpretentious production provides us with no more than that. At the time it was advertised in George Langbury’s The Herald and a publisher’s note, which includes favourable reviews from newspapers across the country is held at the Norfolk Record Office. But apart from the odd stanza appearing in now out of print accounts of the strike, it has been effectively lost in its entirety until now.
After some effort, working from a digitalised copy of a battered copy once owned by Mr Sol Sandy (a former strike school pupil and original trustee) we now finally have the complete work back in print. It will be available at the rally for £5 and all profits (the margin is quite small) goes towards the upkeep of the Strike School.
